GURU - Bhagwan, His Secretary & His Bodyguard is a film directed by Sabine Gisiger and Beat Häner. The film is based on the life of Guru Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh as witnessed through the eyes of his secretary Sheela Birnstiel and bodyguard Hugh Milne. The film was released in many countries and was the most successful documentary feature of 2010 and a box-office hit in Switzerland. GURU - Bhagwan, His Secretary & His Bodyguard was nominated for the Swiss Film Prize / Best Documentary 2010.

At the beginning of the 1970s Hugh Milne listens to a cassette of the spiritual teacher, Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, and makes a trip from England to India in a search to find himself. Sheela Birnstiel (Patel) is taken by her father to meet the charismatic guru. Bhagwan urges his disciples to practice meditation and tantric sexuality. Hugh accompanies the rise of the guru while acting as his bodyguard. Birnstiel becomes the head of the model commune that springs to life in the 1980s in the mountains of Oregon. The dream ends as a nightmare, for Hugh in a nervous breakdown and for Sheela in prison. But the journey is not yet over.
